ARTIST DEMONSTRATIONS/WORKSHOPS

Get an intimate look at the process as exhibiting artists reveal their secrets during Artist Demonstrations and Workshops. Volunteers assist with set-up and take-down of the stage and assist the artists with their equipment.

ARTIST RELATIONS

Want to work closely with the visual artists? Artist Relations volunteers assemble and distribute Artist Welcome Packets, greet the artists at the Festival, operate the Artist Center, run errands for artists, and distribute refreshments.

CALYPSO’S CREATIONS

This activity area features interactive arts projects for children. Be prepared to laugh and watch kids create masterpieces. We need your help staffing activities, organizing materials, and helping kids have a wonderful time. Become a team leader by overseeing an activity for the entire day including supply distribution, volunteer management, and production needs.

CONFERENCE SERVICES

Use your people and organizational skills. Meet and greet every Festival participant as they arrive at the hotel. Volunteers assist organizers with registration and conference

DEVELOPMENT/PROTOCOL SERVICES

Host and attend to the needs of our sponsors, host patrons, donors, and supporters who make the Festival happen. Volunteers will run the Festival Club, work with sponsors, assist in contractual fulfillment, and keep our supporters happy.

FESTIVAL AMBASSADORS

Usually the first to meet Festival guests, volunteers need a smiling face and a friendly attitude. Volunteers distribute Festival Guide magazines, answer questions, give directions, assist persons with accessibility needs and, most of all, make our guests feel welcome!

MERCHANDISE

Help make everyone look great in our goods! Volunteers will assist in setting up the Festival stores and operating the distribution center.

PERFORMING ARTS

Want to achieve rock star status??? Here’s where you start! Volunteers assist setting up the Festival stages, all production aspects, and assist performers. Some lifting is required.

POSEIDON’S PLAYGROUND

Join grown-ups as they create their own works of art. Help adults try their hand at various art mediums at different levels of participation. This committee provides oversight of the area, materials preparation, and project coordination. Come play with the big kids!

PRODUCTION

Want to be part of the magical transformation that turns the 2004 International VSA arts Festival into a Festival Wonderland? Join this committee and help bring it all together. Stay with us and put your problem solving skills to work—then help us bring it down.

PUBLIC SAFETY

Working as a team, we are the eyes, ears, and feet of the Festival to keep the Festival safe and enjoyable.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

This committee will organize and run the media relations’ center, attend to all the needs of the media, as well as distribute vital information during the Festival.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATION

Use your people skills with our own volunteer group. During the Festival, the committee will operate volunteer headquarters. The responsibilities include checking-in volunteers, distributing T-shirts, securing personal property, and providing breakfast and snacks. The committee also helps with all volunteer training and set-up. If you are upbeat and ready for anything, we need you!
